In order to bring gender inequality issues to light for Equal Pay Day, Paul Bakery created pie chart-inspired desserts. Data on the wage gap is not not always easy to swallow, but these desserts make the experience of opening one's eyes to facts a bit more palatable.
The collection of 'Bittersweet Pies' includes ones like the 'The Misrepresentation Cake,' which shows that Romania's parliament is made up of 88% men and 'The Extremely Rich Cake' that shows only one of Romania's 25 wealthiest people is a woman.
As well as encouraging people to have thought-provoking conversations over dessert, Paul Bakery donated revenue generated from the project to the FILIA Foundation, which trains women to give them a competitive edge in the job market.
