Upcycled Wooden Bowties

The Wood Papillon Collection Reflects Artists and Their Personal Style

In the increasing movement of creating sustainable products with aesthetically pleasing designs, Italian fashion company Vinyluse's newest collection called the Wood Papillon features bow ties made from an unconventional material: recycled wood.

The collection series consists of nine ready-to-wear accessories that are catered to men. Each bow tie is designed to be named after artists and the men's accessory piece reflects the artist's signature style. According to PSFK, "the ‘Dali’ piece is specially shaped to resemble the master’s trademark facial hair, while ‘Matisse’s geometric voids reference his notable paper cut-out art."

The collection was made with upcycled materials that was originally created for completely different purposes. The unconventional materials include abandoned chairs, old flooring and old furniture. The main message behind these productions are a reminder for consumers to recycle common household waste as they can be transformed into one-of-a-kind menswear accessories.
