Earth to People Introduces Salvage and Sap Collection

— May 30, 2025 — Art & Design
New York design firm Earth to People have just worked to use tree sap as the glue instead of synthetic glue to create its debut Salvage and Sap collection. This is the studio's inaugural collection and it is made up of eight pieces of furniture and lighting. The team used a blend of reclaimed aluminum and wind-felled cedar.

The capsule is led by monolithic chairs made by hand from centuries-old cedar. The co-founders of Earth to People, Jordan and Brittant Weller, worked to create the collection using ancient processing methods that utilize "toxic and mass-produced" materials. The two explain, "Tree sap is believed to be the first glue. It's a potent all-purpose adhesive that's use dates back to as early as 45,000 years ago."
