Purism in lighting is exercised quite creatively in the design of this overlapping spherical light. Consisting of a thin metal ring for a frame and a pair of dome-shaped diffusers, the ethereal fixture would become the focus of a room with its mysteriously modern form.
Johansen Faurschou's intriguing illuminator works in an unusual manner. While one of the glass semi-spheres is fixed in place, the other half can be rotated around on the hooped axis. This enables the glow of the lightbulb to escape fully through an open configuration, and causes it to dim increasingly behind one or two layers of the domes. This overlapping spherical light comes in a brown, blue and grey models.
