The Nova Light Uses a Spiraling Form by Esben Bala Skouboe

— December 14, 2025 — Art & Design
The Nova light is crafted from opal PMMA using a sculptural sequence of eight spiraling cones informed by the golden ratio and housed in a round silhouette that measures approximately 52 cm in diameter and height. The lamp integrates a single central light source with a 230 V E14 socket rated for up to 15 W, and its gently curved surfaces create gradients of light and shadow when illuminated.

Its design reflects mathematical proportions found in nature, such as the Fibonacci sequence, as applied to the arrangement of the individual cones that make up the shade. The pendant is suspended by a cable and intended for overhead installation in residential or hospitality settings where ambient lighting is desired. The organic shape is produced in Denmark and sold as a decorative ceiling fixture that combines contemporary geometry with functional lighting. Its material and form aim to provide both visual interest and a consistent, glare-free glow.
