The Ong & Ong JKC1 House is a Modern Singapore Abode
Trenton Millar — October 15, 2012 — Art & Design
Found in the Bukit Timah area of Singapore, the Ong & Ong JKC1 House capitalizes on the Feng Shui elements of "mountain" and "water" that are found in its beautiful tropical surroundings. The spacious abode is atypical for Singapore, which has a densely populated urban landscape in most cases.
The home is built on a slight incline and is centered on a spiral staircase. Rough and natural materials are used in the construction of the exterior of the home, like stone, concrete, timber and glass. The outdoor pool and courtyard create the oasis like feel of the home. The straight-lines and modern design of the home contrast with the natural surroundings to create a contemporary and sublime living space.
