Novo Typo Creates a Typeface from Flowers and Foliage

Amsterdam-based design studio Novo Typo has created an entire typeface using elegant flowers and foliage. The imaginative typefaces would be perfect for a formal event like a wedding or lavish ball. The company say its re-created the alphabet in natural form for an eco-friendly printing company that wanted to reflect its commitment to the environment.

In today's image-obsessed culture, these designs will probably prove very successful for the company. A poster made using a distinctive typeface such as this is sure to gain attention over a dull Helvetica font any day.

This is just one example I have seen recently of nature and flowers in particular being used in modern contemporary design, from fashion editorials to floral prints.
