Pumpui Unveils a Custom Typeface to Differentiate Korean-Style Products

Pumpui has teamed up with Yell Bangkok for a typography-focused campaign supporting the launch of its new product in the competitive Korean-inspired food category. Rather than relying on typical visual cues, the campaign uses Nolingual Font, a custom typeface that mimics the appearance of Korean writing yet remains readable in Thai. This project transforms Hangul’s grid and structural forms to Thai characters and encourages viewers to pause and engage, creating a distinctive brand statement in a crowded market.
“Korean-inspired food cues have become almost a visual language of their own in Thailand. We wanted to speak that language differently by turning typography into the idea itself. If people have to try to read it, they’re already interacting with the brand, and that’s where engagement begins," said Chalermpol Bowonruttanapran, regional creative director at Yell Bangkok.
