The nood app was created by Melina DiMarco, who's sick of the double standards women are subjected to when it comes to the topic of nudity.
With this in mind, she decided to design a series of digital stickers that would cover the parts deemed unacceptable. Her purpose isn't to make photos modest however, but rather to make a statement about how ridiculous the culture that shames women for their sexuality really is.
The nood app does this by covering these taboo body parts with detailed illustrations of them, with various options for nipples, genitalia and more included. Currently, the nood app has been "rejected by both the Apple App Store and Google Play" as it was it was considered to have "objectionable material," however a petition is circulating to get it passed.
