The 'Neuron Pod' is a curiously shaped educational center that is a part of the Center of the Cell in Whitechapel, London. The structure has been designed by Will Alsop — the late architect was the founder of studio All Design.
The inspiration is quite curious, however, it fits in well with the theme and the intended functions of the space. The Neuron Pod is intentionally conceived to mimic the appearance of a neuron cell which is the basic working unit of the brain and is responsible for transmitting information to the organ.
Will Alsop's educational center is elevated onto three legs and its exterior is made out of weathering steel which is relatively easy to maintain.
