Moment installation by Haberdashery reimagines the daily rhythm of London Bridge as an ever-changing visual experience. ‘Installed inside the lobby of Shard Place at London Bridge, the large-scale piece uses sound sensors to capture ambient noise—from footsteps to passing trains—and converts these inputs into fluid sequences of light. The result is a sculptural installation that translates the city’s pace into a meditative play of motion and illumination.
It is designed by design studio Haberdashery. State of Craft, the design studio behind Shard Place’s interiors, envisioned the installation as a central feature of the entrance lobby, surrounded by a calm, light-responsive, stone and timber environment that contrasts with the busy city outside. Visually, the gentle, shifting patterns reflect the constant movement of commuters while softening the sensory intensity of the environment. By blending architectural lighting with experiential design, Moment transforms a busy transitional space into a contemplative pause. This way, it carefully reveals the poetry within the soundscape of everyday city life.
