The D*haus Company Boasts Award-Winning House Designs

— January 30, 2019 — Art & Design
Modern Georgian architecture is rapidly evolving with the introduction of more design-savvy silhouettes that offer viable solutions "to the challenges a city might face in a century from now." With rapid urbanization and the sinking of large metropolitans — from New York City to Bangkok, flooding is becoming a real problem. As a result, Dezeen x MINI Living launched an Urban Home Competition that explores innovative and problem-addressing ideas.

London-based The D*Haus Company won first prize for its modern Georgian architecture that boasts a flood-resistant design. The studio presents a series of pre-fabricated homes that are elevated from the ground by 3D-printed platforms made with concrete. The urban-sustainability project is cleverly dubbed 'Kentish Classic' and with it, The D*Haus Company envisions "a more vernacular future."
