Using a message app while driving is highly dangerous, but the new Android Auto support for Facebook Messenger enables drivers to safely interact with friends without the need to hold their phone.
Incoming messages that are received via Facebook Messenger can now be read over the sound system to provide drivers with up-to-date connectivity that doesn't stop just because they're behind the wheel. Users are able to quickly reply with canned responses or dictate a response that is personalized to the message itself.
The message app update and capability enables drivers to maintain connectivity without losing sight of the road, which still remains of paramount importance to ensuring safe driving habits. With autonomous driving on the brink of adoption, we'll likely continue to see similar integrations that expand the capabilities for drivers in different ways.
