Darkly Surreal Photography

Lotta van Droom Creates Intriguing and Disturbing Otherworldly Images

Lotta van Droom is a talented photographer and artist born in Germany and based in Ireland, who brings to life dark and twisted realities that delve into the surreal. As though straight out of ‎the Guillermo del Toro-directed Pan's Labyrinth, the images are at one intriguing and disturbing. Yet Lotta van Droom is inspired by the likes of Andy Warhol and Francisco de Goya.

Thought-provoking and full of imagination, Lotta van Droom says about her work, "Many of my photos are the result of stories, formed in my mind. They are little excerpts of my thoughts which I try to reflect this way. It’s not important for me to show reality. I want to show my world of fantasy and wishes.”
