Ara Thorose Explores Design Boundaries with the Ladder Series

Designer Ara Thorose has presented the Ladder series, which is created for the There Will Be Clouds exhibition. It is made with French artist Guillaume Linard-Osorio in Rome's Contemporary Cluster Art Gallery. The idea explores deeper on 'ladderness' by taking the minimal form and pushes boundaries of sculpture and function.

The design is inspired by Swiss painterd Johann Heinrich Dussli, whose work delivers a dramatic emotional contrast to anguish. Thorose captures the duality with these ladder designs, discovering that elevation and descent is emotional and physical. Thorose explains more about the design, stating that “Sitting on steps is intuitive. Through that simple act, we create personal space – and somehow, the setting becomes informal and warm.”
