Lishin Elementary School's Library Looks Like a Life-Sized Balsa Model

Building miniature models is a fun way to pass the time, and Lishin Elementary School's library takes that small-scale hobby and writes it large. The recently redesigned area features unvarnished wood paneling placed in slat-like geometries that immediately bring to mind the balsa skeletons that comprise most miniature models.
The Lishin Elementary School library was designed by TALI DESIGN. One of the most interesting features of the library is its wall shelves, which extend up to the ceiling. Rather than stopping once reaching the ceiling, though, the shelving keeps its shape while curving outward to conform to the 90-degree angle between the wall and the ceiling. This creates a flowing appearance in the space that fits nicely with the oblong units placed throughout the library.
