If you’re visiting the Louvre anytime soon, you’ll encounter some Lady Gaga art amongst its collection of famous paintings like the Mona Lisa. With the release of her latest album, ARTPOP, Lady Gaga has been talking up how she is turning pop music into art and vice versa. Gaga got her wish by being the muse for a series of works created by Robert Wilson.
In the series, Wilson recreates famous paintings like 'Mademoiselle Caroline Rivière', 'Salomé avec la tête de Saint Jean-Baptiste', and Jacques-Louis David's 'The Death of Marat,’ with the subjects of those paintings replaced by the pop star.
Wilson’s series of video portraits were created by filming Gaga over the course of three days in intervals of about 14 or 15 hours.
