Toronto's entertainment district is home to a huge collection of restaurants, but Khao San Road manages to stand out from the rest through its eclectic menu of regional Thai staples. Owned and operated by Monte Wan, this Asian eatery celebrates often underrepresented cuisine in a way that is both authentic and modern. Featuring various curries, noodle dishes and starters, Kaho San Road keeps a fairly large menu but does not sacrifice quality in any of its dishes. Signature dishes include the amazingly flavorful pad gra prao and the kua gling with housemade curry paste.
Complementing the delicious food is a signature style that fills the restaurant's space with a distinct feel and aesthetic. Colorful geometric wallpaper lines the walls of the space and blends beautifully with the frantic pace the restaurant often falls under. The building housing Khao San Road works beautifully for the space as large ceiling-high windows give passersby a great view of the interior and bathe the dining room in stunning natural light.
