Kentucky for Kentucky Released a Comical Commercial About the Kentucky Fun Mall
Hayley McGlone — July 20, 2016 — Pop Culture
Kentucky for Kentucky has released a hilarious commercial promoting the Kentucky Fun Mall located in Lexington Kentucky. The ad features Hiler and Griffin VanMeter, who are partners in Kentucky for Kentucky in the comical but real venture. The Fun Mall is 12,000 square feet and is stocked with merchandise promoting the people, place and products of Kentucky.
The Cocaine Bear is also featured in the ad, and is in the Kentucky Fun Mall for consumers to look at. The stuffed-bear named Pablo Escobear died after ingesting 40 kilos of cocaine that fell from a plane in a failed smuggling operation. Hiler said, "The ad was inspired by the old 90s buy-here-pay-here used car lot ads, but a little stranger." The ad was intended to be almost absurdly comical in its style and succeeds at that, and has been aired during programs like The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live.
