Karhu and Artek Work Together on a Limited Iteration of the Stool 60
Amy Duong — December 7, 2018 — Art & Design
Finland-based design labels Karhu and Artek work in collaboration on a special version of the signature Stool 60. The Stool 60 was originally designed by Albar Aalto and grew to become one of his most recognizable furniture designs. The latest collaborative effort showcases the classic design in a new vibrant finish to bring energy to any domestic space.
The duo draws inspiration from the signature orange and black tonal combination that is often used by Karhu by featuring the colors in throughout the foundation. The three-legged stool has one orange leg and two birch wood legs, holding up a black seat. Notably, the black seat is complete in leather materials with a branding accent in the form of Karhu's bear motif incorporated through a wood burning method beneath the seat.
