Ukraine Protest Photography

Journey Through Ukraine Reveals Life Under Civil War

In 'Journey Through Ukraine,' Kieran Kesner documents the protests occurring, and the people surviving, in the midst of an agonizing civil war.

However, more than just riots, guns and fatalities, Kesner also captures priests continuing to pray, farmers continuing to farm and cyclists continuing to ride, even throughout the chaos and destruction.

Kesner's series is open to all stories, all perspectives and all voices, weaving a narrative that differs from the coverage that we're seeing on the news. Though violence does exist, beauty has not been eradicated, and nor has hope, with the country's citizens hanging on despite evidence of corruption. Ultimately, the series encapsulates a series of contradictions, hoping to view the larger picture of what's currently happening in Ukraine.
