LUMINISCENCE is transforming New York’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral into an immersive storytelling experience combining 360-degree video mapping, narration, orchestral music, and live choir performances. Created by LOTCHI and produced by Banijay Live, the show maps digital visuals directly onto the cathedral’s architecture to communicate its history and cultural significance. Visitors can choose between a Live+ experience featuring a choir and orchestra or a version using recorded music and narration.
The format gives historic landmarks a new way to engage visitors without permanently altering their architecture. For Banijay, the model also creates a scalable live entertainment property that can be adapted to culturally significant venues internationally. LUMINISCENCE has already attracted more than two million visitors across eight countries, demonstrating the commercial potential of combining heritage tourism with ticketed digital entertainment. A portion of New York ticket sales also supports preservation of the cathedral’s historic organ.
