The inaugural iHeartRadio Podcast Awards aims to honor the very best in the medium and will span 22 categories. iHeartMedia is currently the number one podcast publisher globally and this new event will only further cement the company as the leading authority in podcasting. According to Conal Byrne, President of iHeartMedia’s Podcasting Division, "The iHeartRadio Podcast Awards will provide a forum to celebrate the high-caliber, creative content that has made podcasting a major new audio category."
The iHeartRadio Podcast Awards will be live-streamed globally and will be hosted by Mario Lopez. The award show will also include Payne Lindsay (Up & Vanished), Aaron Mahnke (Lore), and Jake Brennan (Disgraceland), with more to be announced later.
