RFIDs for VIPs

Spain's Baja Beach Club Implants Its A-Listers With Bar Codes

Renowned Barcelona-based Baja Beach Club is the first ultra-trendy social venue in the world to inject RFID microchips into its VIP members. Organizers even hold an ‘implant night’ for new members.

For a fee of 125 euros, elite members of the club gain instant free access to the club’s VIP area. Drinks and entertainment are then tracked and debited from their in-house accounts, relieving the need to carry ID or credit cards.

Club owners boast no pain, no swelling, and no soreness as clubgoers continue to line up every night to be implanted.

The ‘Verichip’ was created by Florida’s Applied Digital Solutions and was originally intended to be a security application.
