Earlier this week, those who visited London's Trafalgar Square were treated to the sights of a giant Monopoly board installation, complete with city-specific game pieces and oversized die.

The installation was launched to mark the London Games Festival and the board was customized to reveal highlights about the history of gaming in the UK. With prominent figures, products and dates, the informative game board installation charts the rise of computers in the 80s to the popularity of virtual reality today.

While the game board itself isn't playable, it encouraged locals and visitors to snap a few photos and pick up a few facts on the history of gaming in London and beyond. This installation marks the first ever London Games Festival.
