In an effort to reinvigorate the microwaveable snack category, Velveeta has created frozen grilled cheese products that put a unique twist on a classic American comfort food. With a growing number of millennials and gen Z consumers opting for snacks over full meals, the snack-sized cheese sandwiches could become a popular mid-day treat.

For its first foray into the frozen food aisle, Velveeta has debuted two new products: Velveeta Stuffed Grilled Cheese and Velveeta Cheesy Bites. The first of the cheesy snack foods is similar to a hot pocket in that it consists of a buttery turnover-style biscuit stuffed with a melted Velveeta cheese. The snack is stored in the freezer and can be cooked in the microwave in about a minute. On the other hand, the Velveeta Cheesy Bites are breaded dough balls filled with either plain Velveeta cheese or a mixture of Velveeta cheese and salsa.

Both of the frozen grilled cheese snacks demonstrate the growing demand for microwave-friendly foods that allow consumers to cut down on prep time and cooking.
