When it comes to buying protein bars, consumers are most often required to head to a grocery store and make a purchase by the bar or box—but Orlando's Macaw! Foods is offering an alternative way for people to shop and puts its focus on locally made, fresh protein bars. The shop can churn out 1,000 bars per hour, with its bars boasting a base of dates, cashew butter and natural flavorings.
It is becoming more and more common to see stores and restaurants with a single-ingredient focus. This is exemplified by everything from artisanal mustard bars to restaurants that serve entire menus based on fries or avocados.
As Macaw! Foods' owner Owen Seay describes: "I really just want to make great products and get them to customers with the fewest amount of headaches, and that’s what’s led me to open a shop instead of going through retail stores."
