Desert Essence's Cruelty-Free Toothpaste Contains No Carrageenan

Desert Essence launched a new line of free-from toothpaste products that will satisfy consumers who are looking to go without everything from fluoride and sodium lauryl sulfate to carrageenan and gluten.

Each of the cruelty-free, vegan toothpastes contains baking soda, sea salt and zinc citrate, which work together to prevent buildups. The new toothpastes are being introduced in four varieties with globally inspired ingredients, including: Pink Himalayan Salt, Aloe and Tea Tree Oil, Arnica and Tea Tree Oil, and Activated Coconut Charcoal.

While flavor used to be a major selling feature for many oral care products, this range spotlights ingredients that health-conscious consumers have come to know for their functional benefits—while aloe is soothing and tea tree has natural antiseptic properties, charcoal is a powerful detoxifier.
