Feminist Beer Branding

This Labeling Was Designed to Oppose the Sexualization of Women in Media

This feminist beer branding features prominent women -- some of whom are universally appreciated and others who are more controversial.

Created by Huyen T. Do as part of a student project in San Francisco, 'HER' beer makes a powerful statement about the sexualized portrayal of women in the media. As a result, the designer created this feminist beer branding that counters the traditional method of advertising women. The beers feature images of prominent feminists and female role models. Some of the women chosen are universally admired -- such as Oprah and Frida Kahlo. The others are more controversial, including the prominent artist Yoko Ono and self-proclaimed feminist Lena Dunham.

The message of female empowerment in this feminist beer branding is an important one for girls and women alike to absorb.
