In fact, it was initially developed as a treatment for depression.

According to Sprout Pharmaceuticals -- the company responsible for the female Viagra pill -- women taking Addyi experience a 37% increase in sexual desire. The drug is intended for premenopausal women with low sex drives. It will be interesting to see if the female Viagra pill becomes as successfully mainstreamed as its little blue counterpart.
