Encore! Encore! is a collection of light sculptures by London-based artist and designer Anna Lomax, presented at Aethos London Shoreditch for Shoreditch Design Week from September 15 to 20, 2026. The installation transforms discarded neon from Lomax’s archive of past commissions into colourful sculptural works that glow, shift and appear to move within the hotel lobby. Larger forms were produced by Mosso, UPM Group’s large-format 3D printing specialist, using Polymaker’s Polycore PETG 1200, a recycled and recyclable material that can be reground and reformed for future projects.
The collaboration extends throughout the hotel with a limited-edition room package featuring Lomax’s work, allowing guests to experience the installation beyond the lobby. A bespoke cocktail inspired by the collection’s colour, light and playful character was also available at the Aethos Café during the event. The project explores material reuse and gives previously commissioned neon pieces new forms within a hospitality setting.
Key Themes Behind This Trend
- Reclaimed Light Art
- Discarded neon and legacy lighting components are gaining new cultural value as sculptural materials for immersive branded environments.
- Circular 3D Printing
- Recycled and regrindable printing materials are expanding design possibilities for large-format objects with lower-waste production cycles.
- Hospitality Art Experiences
- Hotels are becoming exhibition platforms where installations, room packages and themed food and beverage offerings extend guest engagement.
Where This Applies
- Sustainable Design
- Material reuse in functional and decorative objects is creating new models for premium aesthetics built around circularity.
- Experiential Hospitality
- Curated art-led environments are differentiating hotels through multisensory stays that blend culture, retail and dining.
- Additive Manufacturing
- Large-format recycled polymer fabrication is enabling artists and brands to produce customized installations with adaptable end-of-life pathways.
