Parachute Sack Lampshades

These Eco-Friendly Lampshades are Recycled from Discarded Items

These eco-friendly lampshades, which look like mini parachutes, are currently on display at a design show in Milan, Italy. The show entitled 'Merry Go Round' is a collection of work from a Swedish design collective called Design Stories.

The work on show includes these beautiful contemporary lampshades and a round mahogany table with ten mismatching legs. In this first collection from Merry Go Round, the artists and designers involved aim to give old pieces of furniture and thrown out nick-knacks a new life by creating them into something new and quirky.

This is a charming example of artist and designers up-cycling old items into something elegant and contemporary that might otherwise have found it's way to a dumpster.
