Destilería Serrallés Expands Its Don Q Rum Portfolio
References: prnewswire
Destilería Serrallés has expanded its Don Q rum portfolio with two new offerings — the Don Q Reserva and the Don Q Reserva Especial. Both of these spirits are aged in former bourbon American white oak barrels and designed to appeal to different segments of the rum market.
The standard Reserva contains a blend of rums aged for a minimum of five years, which allows them to produce a golden amber spirit with notes of caramel, vanilla, raisins, and plum. The spirit is finished with a gentle sweetness that makes it feel approachable on the palate of casual drinkers or those new to premium rum. The Reserva Especial, on the other hand, uses rums aged between seven and ten years. It delivers greater depth with dried fruit, light smoke, and a longer, more elegant finish. This profile has already earned a gold medal and a 94‑point score from the Beverage Testing Institute.
