Alma del Jaguar recently debuted a range of limited-edition tequilas by the name of the Barricas Series. The collection consists of five distinct expressions, each finished in a different type of cask sourced from various international regions. The Tequila Añejo aged 22 is produced in Mizunara Oak casks from Japan. The Tequila Añejo aged 19 months borrows its sensibilities from Ruby Wine casks from the Douro Valley in Portugal. A second Tequila Añejo aged 19 months comes from Vino de Naranja casks from Andalusia, Spain. A third Tequila Añejo aged 19 months features taste sensibilities from ex-Calvados and French Apple Brandy casks, and a final fourth Tequila Reposado finished 19 months boasts Pear Wood-inspired notes from Jura, France.
