Ross & Squibb Distillery has unveiled the ninth installment of its acclaimed Remus Repeal Reserve series. The product commemorates the end of Prohibition with a meticulously crafted high-rye bourbon blend.
This year's edition stands out as the highest-proof release in the series at 104 proof (52% ABV), featuring a carefully balanced composition of four aged bourbons that range from 10 to 18 years. Master Distiller Ian Stirsman selected distinctive barrels to create a complex profile, with the oldest component — an 18-year-old bourbon with 21% rye — comprising 7% of the blend. This is complemented by younger high-rye expressions for depth and character. The non-chill-filtered whiskey presents layered aromas of oak, leather, and cherry, followed by a palate of roasted coffee and smoky spice. It all culminates in a long finish with tobacco and fruit notes.
