The 6 Hands exhibit shown at the Aram Gallery in London's Covent Garden showcased the work of three British designers whose work aesthetic is inspired by both craft and modern design. The three artists included in the show are India Carpenter, Peter Marigold and Ella Robinson. The focus of the artists in this show was to bring together experimental work.
Robinson's recycled wood shapes threaded with yarns and ribbons were a highlight of the show. Her work is the alchemy of bringing woodcraft and fiber together. The innovative pieces were simple and charming. Marigold's works entitled 'Dug Vessels' were created by taking split logs and forcing clay into the orifice. Once the clay dried the log was opened and the result was wood textured vases.
The least rustic of the work shown were Carpenter's silk fabric prints embellished with bright colors and exhibited as wall hangings.
