Understated Beauty Shops

This Cosmetic Shop Design Expresses Beauty in Raw Materials

Due to the surface-level nature of skincare products, the appearance of a cosmetic shop design needs to be as beautiful as the products and clear skin it promotes. This is definitely true with the design of the Aesop Kawaramachi Shop by Tokyo's Torafu Architects, which was transformed as part of a renovation that touched only the bare minimum required.

The new shop space features exposed concrete walls and pipes, with a high ceiling to show off the gorgeous dual-level showroom. On the upper floor, the space is host to a hospitality suite for the relaxation of customers, although it also doubles as a gallery and entertaining space as needed. For the most part, concrete serves as the neutral material and color that dominates, but there are also a few fresh pops of a bright blue color.
