The Acne Studios flagship store in Tokyo is eye-catching

The Acne Studios flagship store in Tokyo's Aoyama district has been relocated to a new, prominent three-level location. The retail design is a collaborative effort between the brand's creative director, Jonny Johansson, and the Stockholm-based architecture firm Halleröd.

The environment of the Acne Studios flagship store heavily features the brand's signature pink granite across walls, floors, and select furnishings. This monolithic materiality is contrasted and complemented by artistic interventions, including custom sofas in matching pink leather and fabric designed by Max Lamb from London. The space also boasts sleek lighting installations created by Paris-based Benoît Lalloz. Adding a layer of local artistic dialogue, the store features a collaboration with Japanese ceramicist Takuro Kuwata, who has produced exclusive ceramic artworks for the basement display area and a capsule collection of reimagined denim, bags, and leather goods.
