Samsung's 'Connected Spaces' Introduce a Retail-as-a-Service Solution

At the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) BIG Show 2018, Samsung introduced 'Connected Spaces' as the future of retail.

The all-in-one pop-up store serves as a brick-and-mortar space that will be equipped with IoT technology and available for retailers to rent. While many brands have taken advantage of the ease with which a pop-up space may be temporarily set up, Samsung's all-new retail-as-a-service solution aims to empower retailers with a range of data collection and real-time analysis tools to enhance the customer experience.

The IoT pop-up spaces have the potential to supply retailers with a wide range of information, including customer traffic, time spent in the store and demographics, which can be measured at specific times, as well as within designated areas in the Connected Spaces. As such, Samsung sees that retailers will be able to better serve customers through improved layouts, product placement and more.
