Flagship Metaverse Retail Stores

Samsung Opens Virtual Replica of Its NY Store in Decentraland

Samsung has officially opened its first virtual flagship store in Decentraland, an increasingly popular metaverse platform that allows users to buy plots of virtual land. Dubbed 'Samsung 837X,' the new digital-only retail location was designed to replicate Samsung's massive flagship store in New York City.

According to the company, the launch of Samsung 837X represents one of the largest land purchases to ever take place on Decentraland. Just like in real life, users will have the opportunity to enter the building with their avatars and experience its high-tech interior. In addition, the brand will be offering guests the chance to win unique NFT collectibles and wearables that can be unlocked by completing Samsung-branded quests.

“The metaverse empowers us to transcend physical and spatial limits to create unique virtual experiences that could not happen otherwise,” said Michelle Crossan-Matos, the senior vice president of corporate marketing and communications at Samsung Electronics America.
