The 'Etch' clock unit is a modern approach to displaying time that provides a somewhat existential take on time itself. The 'Etch' consists of a clock face that is made using an elastic membrane rather than with moving hands. The time is displayed by the elastic undulating with the internal movement of the clock before disappearing and returning the clock face to a blank canvas.
Designed by Johnny Vaccaro, Gilles Caprari and Filippo Riva the 'Etch' clock unit reminds those who look to its face to see the time about the concept of time itself. The numbers disappear from the surface just like the passing minutes of each day as a reminder to always focus on the moment at hand rather than the past or future.
