Metal Mesh Residential Buildings

Ædifica Designs the Cité Angus II Structure Outside Montreal

Local architecture firm Ædifica created the Cité Angus II, which is a residential apartment building located outside of Montreal, Canada. The building is defined by its interior courtyard paired together with the layered metal-mesh facade for a reflective finish. It is a part of the Technopôle Angus project, which is an urban revitalization process in the area.

It rests on a narrow site with a housing block framing the aforementioned courtyard. Ædifica speaks about the design project, stating "The integration of this courtyard with its pedestrian walkway, private spaces, and landscaping at the heart of the project allows permeability with the urban fabric, encouraging human appropriation at the center of the site without compromising the program's minimum density objective."
