Now that Chipotle Rewards, a points-based loyalty program, has been tested across several markets as part of a push to make the brand more accessible and digitally innovative, it is being rolled out nationwide. To kick off the launch of this long-awaited loyalty program, Chipotle is using Venmo payouts to share up to a quarter of a million dollars with fans—this is particularly noteworthy, as Chipotle is the most mentioned brand on Venmo.
To begin earning free Chipotle with the Chipotle Rewards program via the chain's website or app, users can sign up and get 10 points for every dollar spent in the restaurant, app or online. When 1,250 points have been collected, they can be redeemed for a free entree, with occasional extra point days and birthday rewards offering a way for fans to get free food faster.
