Deep Fried Champagne Bites

These Edible Champagne Toast Cubes are Ideal for New Year's Eve

Ringing in the new year with a flute of bubbly has become tradition -- but why not switch it up for 2015 and celebrate with Deep Fried Champagne Toast. Created by Amy of the Oh, Bite It! blog, the fried champagne toast cubes follow the same technique she used in her eggnog festive fried booze bites.

The alcoholic nuggets are crispy and crunchy, making the perfect appetizer for any New Year's Eve festivities you might be hosting tonight. A spin on the conventional midnight toast, the snack involves soaking one inch cubes of pound cake or sponge cake in cheap champagne and deep frying them. Once done, they are then covered in powdered sugar or topped with sprinkles.
