Malibu's A Bit of Sunshine summer campaign makes the most of Snapchat’s innovative AR Marker Tech, which helps to bring everything from product packaging to bus stop billboards to life with augmented reality. After scanning a Snapcode shared on the summery bus stop ads, a user will be linked to a playable game—but not on their mobile device, directly on the poster itself with augmented reality.
Recognizing that AR technology plays a key part in engaging a young demographic, Malibu created an interactive summer campaign that speaks to consumers who are already very familiar with using augmented reality face filters and lenses. Malibu Tropical Parkour on Snapchat is touted as "the next step in the development of branded augmented reality."
As well as being visible as an out-of-home campaign, A Bit of Sunshine is also reaching consumers via influencers and digital content on Instagram and Snapchat.
