Vegan Grain Burgers

Burgerlords' Vegan Burger is Made with Eggplant, Mushrooms and Grains

Burgerlords is a blog-turned-restaurant that's now set up in the heart of Chinatown in LA. While many burger chains and restaurants are serving burgers that are getting more overloaded with ingredients and complex, Burgerlords is serving pared-down burgers and embraces this divergence from the mainstream. As Burgerlords' co-founder Frederick Guerrero says: "It's definitely a rebellion."

This spirit can also be seen in Burgerlords' plant-based burger, which is not just vegetarian, but full-on vegan. The patty on this vegan burger is made with a blend of vegetables like eggplant, mushrooms, leeks, as well as garlic, barley and cashews. While it's prepared on a completely separate grill from beef burgers, it's presented to diners in the exact same way, which speaks to how veganism is sneaking its way into the mainstream.
