Designer Kristina Lastauskaitė-Pundė preserves the historic value of an apartment in Lithuania with contemporary cabinetry and an accented brass home interior. The home decor builds itself on a subdued color scheme and smoked oak parquet floors. Thus, the historic value of the 19th century apartment is not overhauled by a busy contemporary interior. Kristina Lastauskaitė-Pundė rather strengthens the roots of the space by exposing "fragments of fresco from the apartment's old ceiling" in the living area and the master bedroom.
The description of 'brass home interior' comes from the hits of "gold-hued sheets of brass" on the "entrance doorway and a singular kitchen cupboard." The designer has utilized a modern approach to home decor by using contrasting elements to her advantage— the whimsically old components of the past and the minimalist contemporary aspects of the present.
