For the fourth year now, the James Beard Foundation is running its Blended Burger Project, which has nationwide chefs create burgers with meat and mushrooms as part of a push for better nutrition, taste and sustainability. In recognition of this ongoing project, Blue Apron teamed up with the James Beard Foundation to create a Beef and Mushroom Blended Burger of its own.
This special "Blended Burger Project: Home Edition" gives consumers the chance to order the pre-portioned ingredients needed to make the burger and also receive helpful cooking tips.
The patties featuring ground beef, grated cremini mushrooms and a few other simple ingredients are paired with roasted onion and a side of marinated cabbage. Additionally, Blue Apron also offers a few wine pairing ideas on its site to further enhance the meal experience.
