The 'Blackbird' Could Completely Change How Car Commercials Are Shot

The Mill recently won the Innovation Lion at Cannes for the 'Blackbird.' The commercial involved using a vehicle can change its length and width, as well as its wheel and suspension to mimic the specs of any car.

This car is most notable for advertising departments in the auto industry that have to create commercials. Rather than having to film commercials with multiple cars, which costs more time and money than filming with just one, the Blackbird can be digitally redesigned to look like any car. The footage would be taken of Blackbird, adjusted to the appropriate dimensions of the car it is mimicking, and then the look of the actual car will be placed over it with CG images. If Blackbird is utilized by car companies in their ads, viewers will be none the wiser.
