Mattel's Star Light Adventure RC Toy Takes Barbie to New Heights

The Star Light Adventure RC Hoverboard is a new Barbie toy that was unveiled at New York's annual Toy Fair. In this toy, Barbie is suited up in space-age gear and crouches on top of a hovering quadrotor drone that's controlled by a pink and blue wireless remote. The toy isn't set for release until the fall of 2016, but it's likely a gift that many young girls will be hoping to get for Christmas.

This high-tech toy is just one of many new innovations from Mattel. Over the past year or so, the toymaker released Hello Barbie and more recently, a new line of dolls that celebrates diversity with three new body shapes. At the Toy Fair, Mattel also revealed another next-generation Barbie toy: the Barbie Hello Dreamhouse, complete with voice recognition.
